Long and rambling ramble

Cut for those who don't want to be spoiled (though there's precious little ep discussion now that I think of it) and for those who don't care.
Wow. Wow. And then, wow again, as I reach for a tissue. I'd seen references to this on my flist, but didn't cop which ep it was... I thought halfway through that he might have faked his own kidnapping, said as much to helsinkisister, who said that she didn't know, that she knew how it ended but not how it got there... cue helsinkibaby making a slot machine as a thousand pennies dropped. But oh my, even with that knowing... it wrecked me. And I have no idea if that's because it was just that much of a powerhouse episode (which it totally was) or because that whole scene is extremely familiar territory for me... I spent a goodly portion of today trying, and I use the term in no devalued sense because you can't sort out these things, trying to sort out a she said/she said spat between two of the girls in my class, each blaming the other, each saying the other instigated the whole thing, and I know that stuff went on with the same two before so obviously it's still bubbling away there underneath the surface, but you can't actually do anything about it because it's all she said/she said and you just go around and around in circles, and it's just soul-destroying. So when Danny was wondering how kids can do that to one another, I was like, "It's no surprise to me"... and I can really see something like that happening; it's terrifying how true to life it is. < shudders > I'm just surprised that we didn't get the whole "Kids will be kids" line from any of the parents (you know the whole, "It never did us any harm" line?) though I was pleased to see the whole "My child would never do that" making an appearance... never ceases to amaze me how many parents trot that one out; how they're able to tell you exactly what happened while not being within an ass's roar of the classroom/yard... yeah, I'm not going to be ablel to sleep tonight. I need fluff now. The fluffier the better.
