First of all, a great huge ginormous thank you to those of you who saw this episode before I did, and cut tagged and did everything possible to make sure that those of us who have not had the BroadbandFairy bestow the miracle of downloading ability upon us could look at this episode unspoiled. A blessing upon all of your houses my friends, and may all your camels be bountiful. maggis you are possibly the only person who might get that reference, and for that I give you the news that you may not have heard, that Lee Ross is joining Eastenders. Whether this is using my powers for good or evil, who can say. Nonetheless, we may be forced to watch it. Until such time as we realise that he is not Kenny and then we may abandon ship.

Let me just say for a second that I hung in with it all, despite the fact that there seemed to be a lot of things that happened off camera, or rather quickly. Took me a second to realise just why Kara and Company went back to Galactica, how they got off Caprica - though that could have been because Reverend!Al had been revealed as Cylon!Al, and can I just say that Dean Stockwell continues to rock???

Sharon to Helo during the scene in the brig? Wow. Did not see that reaction coming.

I hung in with the ballot rigging. I had complete respect for Baltar for the first time ever when he said what he said about Laura being honest and that the election was over. Got slightly nervous when I saw the whole nuclear detonation thing, and especially when I saw his reaction - wanted to smack him for the way he was acting towards Adama.

Speaking of wanting to smack people? Drunken Kara doing shots with Anders when Lee came in? HelsinkiSister looked at me and said, "Am I supposed to hate her? Because I've only seen four episodes and I do." And I gotta say, I go back and forth on Kara, but on that scene? I would have thrown her out an airlock.

Going back to the Baltar scene... he put his head down... he fell asleep... wakes up in a different place... the two of us are there going "WTF?" and my first coherent sentence was to turn to HelsinkiSister and say, "If I see a snowglobe, I'm outta here." (Please please please, tell me someone gets the snowglobe reference???)

Then I saw "ONE YEAR LATER" and frankly? Snowglobe wasn't looking so bad anymore!!!

Baltar being a drunken lush? I am not surprised.

Kara and Lee on the outs? I am not surprised. ysrith mentioned something in her LJ a while back about the L/K shippers and how they were rewriting canon to get their happy ever after so I was not expecting hearts, flowers and slushy love songs.

But she married Anders???

I'm taking it that he's still with Dee, what with the looks she was giving him when Kara was on the phone, for want of a better word, to Pegasus... we agreed that he wasn't wearing a ring, but that we both saw her look as if she was twisting something on her left hand. Engagement ring? And can I just say? She looked good in that uniform.

Are we to infer that Chief and Cally are together? Because there was the whole "I care about you... I always have and I always will" at the start (where I turned to HelsinkiSister and uttered the words, "I fucking love that woman!") and then we didn't see her without him on New Caprica... but I think they're leaving room to go either way with it... perhaps. Though I'm sure they know themselves... I just remember at G1 when Aaron was asked about their relationship and he characterised it as "Big brother, little sister"... personally, I could go either way with it, though I remember liking the idea of them together during that scene they had on Kobol at the start of the season where she was crying on his shoulder... I'm sure someone (meeshyickle????) has an icon of it... and Daddy!Tyrol makes me swoon.

And the end... first of all, was the Six that was in the room at the end OriginalCapricaSix who was downloaded in Downloaded or was she Gina!Six reincarnated? Because I thought for a second that the Sharon was Reincarnated!Galactica!Sharon (who knew naming the characters would be so complicated? This is what happens when one is not reading the fandom as one wants to remain spoiler free!) but then she opened her mouth and I had to wonder.

I'm thinking that Kara may be a widow before the end of the season premiere though... pneumonia aside, waking up with Cylon!NotVechioRay standing over you is not a good place to be. Though I did squeee when CKR was in the credits... any chance of getting him to a convention???

Also, fandoms colliding... the guy who swore in Baltar as president? Was Winston Reckert. Which is a name that will mean nothing to most of you (though some of you will know him as the Traitor!Tok'ra in The Tok'ra two parter in Stargate season two) but I know him as Michael Terry, from the series Neon Rider, in which he starred, and one of the supporting actors was Peter Williams! That's the first thing that I saw him in, and when I first met Peter at SG2 told him as such, and that I'd been trying to stop myself calling him Pin all weekend... he remembered me from that at SG5; I nearly collapsed at the cocktail party table.

But I digress. I babble when confussed (and that's meant to be spelled like that).

Bill? Honey, much like HelsinkiFiancé at the weekend when he turned up for the Wild Wild West fancy dress party with the ugliest fake moustache known to man, I say no. Just no. Razor blades are our friend Bill!!!

And Aaron? The above paragraph? Lather, rinse, repeat. Then shave.

The scene between him and Roslin, where he confronts her with the ballot fixing? Solid gold.

And I say again, ONE YEAR LATER???

I think I preferred the fucking snowglobe.



And in non spoiler related stuff, I can now read all the fic that I've been denying myself since this aired in the States. So I'm calling to the Galactica fans on my flist, or even those who just stumble across this, give me fic recs. Am fairly multi-shipperish, will give anything a chance (though I have love in my heart for Lee/Dee, the Great Rhyming Ship) and any Tyrol fic (which I suspect is hens' teeth like) will be appreciated... romantical has stepped up to the plate with some links already, but anything else? Would be appreciated.

I still need to post about Not Fade Away. And when I am coherent (tomorrow perhaps!) I shall do just that. Suffice it to say the weekend totally rocked, I was incredibly tired when I got home yesterday and Christian Kane is possibly one of the greatest convention guests I have ever had the pleasure and privilege to meet. I adore him.
