All Points Bulletin!

I'm looking for help from people on my friends list, and possibly, people who aren't.

Some of you know that we have film editing equipment in the school, which came from being part of the pilot phase of the Irish Film in Schools Project (FIS for short) I'm in the middle of doing a film this week, as is one of the other teachers and a third teacher is filming something off.

For editing, we're using an Apple EMac (IMac?) and the IMovies program, but are having problems with not having enough ram and the thing crashing and running too slowly etc. The teacher editing at the moment is also finding IMovies rather limiting from the point of view of transitions etc, and she was wondering what other kind of movie editing software is out there.

I told her that I didn't know, but I knew where I could find out!

So here I am, and my request is this - if you make music vids, and I know some of you out there do, could you just take a minute to tell us what software you use, if you've ever used anything else and how you find it - it doesn't have to be detailed, we just want to get a sense of what it is that's out there. And if you know someone else who makes vids who would like to share their experiences, could you please point them in my direction?

Day of hell (again) today - this time, I literally ran out of gas before I even got out of bed. That kind of tired run down sicky feeling that you get when you're doing too much (running around like a lunatic with the film, giving extra maths grinds, 1000whispers first draft kicking my ass -anyone else get their line and go "Wuh?" - I swear, I used to like TS Eliot - general life wear and tear... TFI Friday indeed!)

Was so tired when I got home, literally had to go upstairs where there was nobody else around and sit in silence for a while. So I dragged out my Dark Angel DVDs and looked at those. Found Alex Zahara in them (Wolf SG7 fellow con goer will appreciate how hot he looks all stubbly and evil in firelight) which was cool, and also forgot how damn hot Michael Weatherly is in that show. Also how much chemistry he and Jessica Alba had. This, of course, means that I surely must do a marathon of this show. Which can mean either writing my first ever DA fic, or a heck of a lot of Tony Navy NCIS fic. Could go either way.

For now though, I have Warrick/Sara post Butterflied fic for the csreports fear challenge. ( His Fear )

And firstlines1000 -- an Empire Records challenge... my brain is just exploding. Seriously. Like I needed an excuse to watch that film again...
