B - A pairing–platonic, romantic or sexual–that you initially didn’t consider, but someone changed your mind.
This is a tricky one for me because normally I'm the one who does that for other people! Recently I saw someone rec a Criminal Minds Emily/Reid fic which I'd never considered and I ended up really enjoying it, so probably that one?
F - What’s the longest you’ve ever been in a fandom?
I flit in and out and around fandoms but probably the longest where I was/am still producing fic (though not as much these days) was West Wing which I would class as 2000 to present. Stargate dates from 1998 but I really don't do much with that at all any more, but wouldn't be averse to dusting it off if the inspiration struck.
Z - Just ramble about something fan-related, go go go! (Prompts optional but encouraged.)
Joe West, people, Joe West. Where is the love, fandom? Ok, I know I'm probably older than the demographic for the show, and the fandom probably don't want to be thinking of their dad as a romantic lead and the romance prospects for him on the show are slim pickings (although dude, I've seen three minutes of three clips from the last ep that aired in the States and oh my sweet divine, what more do you people want??) but Joe is awesome and deserves more love.
Also? Harrison Wells, in whatever incarnation you wish to name, is canonically probably the same age as Joe and people have no problem shipping him with everyone and anyone!
And while I'm not one to cry racism (probably not racism exactly, but a certain fandom preference for the non-POC hero/anti hero/villain) at any and all opportunity, I will however point out that in the Luke Cage section at AO3, there are (checks) 11 stories that are tagged Luke Cage/Claire Temple. (I'm willing to admit ClaireDevil and Luke/Jessica Jones shippers have something to do with that. Though I'm fairly sure that Jessica/Kilgrave outnumbers Jessica/Luke on their section. I just checked and it does). HOWEVER Shades/Mariah? 28 stories.
There is my ramble!
J - Name a fandom you didn’t think about until you saw it all over social media. (You don’t have to care about it or follow it; it just has to be something that social media made you aware of.)
Pitch!!!! I have the eps downloaded but have not had a chance to see them yet and don't expect it to air over here because it's baseball which I do not understand at all. I don't recall seeing any press online for the show, or if I did I must have skipped over it, see baseball above. Then the gifs appeared on tumblr and I was looking going "Who's Grizzly Adams, I know him," and then I saw the eyes and realised it was Zack Morris Mark-Paul Gosselaar who, apart from SBTB, really impressed me as John Clark Junior in NYPD Blue and then there were all the gifs of Mike and Ginny and I read a little and figured out they're co-workers (ding!) who are friends first (ding!) with an age difference (ding ding!) and there are a million reasons why they shouldn't get together (ding a ling a ling!) -- how many of my tropes can you get in one ship?! I'm so in when I get a chance to be!
Q - A fandom you’ve abandoned and why.
Hawaii Five-0. I think the writing on the show has suffered a lot over the last couple of seasons, it's fallen far from what it was in season one and there are huge swathes of the fandom who are McDanno or bust and it's really really toxic.
A - Ships that you currently like a lot. (They don’t have to be OTPs because not everyone has OTPs.)
A spoilery one for The Flash that I alluded to above that I won't go into for anyone watching on Sky one time who's not spoiling themselves.
My little Flash crack ship of Joe/Caitlin.
I'm not actually watching too much at the moment that has me shipping stuff? Oh, Luke/Claire, from Luke Cage. Also, I have about 5 or 6 eps of Daredevil season two to watch and I like Matt/Karen which I didn't think I would?
U - Three favorite characters from three different fandoms, and why they’re your favorites.
Joe West (The Flash) because Jesse L Martin is wonderful and awesome and because Joe is completely under-rated by fandom and underused on the show. His dry snark and Everyman role is greatly needed.
Foggy Nelson (Daredevil) - because he's a great lawyer (the scene where he stands up to yer one who was Dana in Another World is gold), because he's a loyal friend. Because you think he's just the comic relief (Avocados at law!) and then he can break your heart with a word or a look or an episode (I will never be over the confrontation scenes after he found out). I have found out, via tumblr, that there are people who do not like him and I do not understand, do you not like puppies and Christmas too? (and I love how fandom has decided that when Claire says, in the last LC ep that she knows a good lawyer, fandom instantly went, it's Foggy. Not Matt!)
Leo McGarry (West Wing) - for his gravitas, his compassion, his snark, his wisdom, his smile. "This guys walking down the street and he falls into a hole." "That's what sons do for old friends of their fathers." For the scenes where he meets Ainsley and offers her a job. For his scenes with Lord John Marbury. (Gerald!) If you don't like Leo, I can't be friends with you, sorrynotsorry.
V - Which character do you relate to most?
Any scene they give JJ in Criminal Minds where she's trying to balance all the stuff going on in her life? Yeah, I get that.
