Beautiful story to rec,After Life by [livejournal.com profile] timeenoughfor, NCIS, Jenny/Gibbs, post Judgement Day fix it fic. Love it!

Tonight's DOI..how good did Chris Dean look in that opening number? Let me tell you, Nimoy could have burned the house down and I would not have noticed!

Yesterday morning, flicking through tv stations, Scarecrow and Mrs King was on...Himself, who he later told me had never seen an episode, put it on after I mentioned how I used to love it. Turned out that it was Stemwinder... the two parter where Lee and Amanda go on the run after being framed for selling out the USA to the Soviets, and Lee tells Amanda that he loves her and they have their first kiss...of all the eps to stumble in on, that's awesome! Second part was on this morning, I have it taped to look at at my leisure!

Saw my first full ep of this season..no spoilers here, unless you count the fact that I'm surprised over Jayne's hair and her apparent attack of the Oksanas. Was wondering would they address the Karen/Chris revelations but not really surprised they didn't. Though now have whole new theory about why she's off the judging panel! Which, by the way, is a joke now that they only have three on it,and two of them know nothing about skating! Maybe it's an unpopular opinion but I miss Nicky..though that may be because I'm one of the seemingly few people who often thought he made The Sense!

Dancing on Ice - here come the girls )

Stargate Atlantis - Vegas and Enemy at the Gate )

Dioscesan religion inspectors in class tomorrow. Am behind in Religion program, but oh well. They are well able to talk and ask questions, they can sing a song, and at least I shall have had more sleep than the last time they came to talk to me. (It was the Monday after SG9. The party finished in London at 3, I stayed up until half 5 chatting - this was the event and the night at which Himself and I got chatting and swapped numbers) then got to the airport, flew to Dublin at 7 o'clock, landed at half 8, got into school for half nine-ish, and they were in to me at 11.15. Yes, the only sleep I had was on the plane, and there was precious little over the weekend. Fun times)

One of those days where I check FSU and see all kinds of fun stuff that I've been missing in the world of skating...

The Polish federation seem to be losing Piatkowska and Khromin, someone has done up a timeline of events here detailing how they want to skate for Belgium. Also includes mention of diva like behaviour from Piatkowska, who is bitching posting on a message board about the whole situation, and received a reply from a PSFA official (posting in a personal capacity), one part of which read, Using a video, DVD player, or other similar equipment, please watch the performances of yourself and your partner from the 2007/2008 season. I have watched them myself, and on the one that I've seen in person, in the Scandinavium Hall in Goeteberg, I will not even comment. *boggles*

Maxim Staviyski was sentenced to two and a half years in jail on Friday for the drunk driving accident he caused.

And Delobel and Schoenfelder are out of Europeans because she's hurt her shoulder at the GP final exhibition.

Also,[livejournal.com profile] conjunkie, if you've not seen it yet, Dancing on Ice contestants.

Back from Galway, which was lovely...

Himself is downstairs looking at Saw III which means that I am upstairs looking at Dancing on Ice, The Final. Three years later, I have come to a conclusion - I hate the flying routines. I think they are gimicky and have nothing to do with skating... I thought it when T&D did one in their show, I thought it when Yags did it for SOI, and nothing I've seen in three years of this show has changed my mind.

That said, and despite the fact that blather about Suzanne's music ) I thought Suzanne was blather about Suzanne's first program and marks )

Bournemouth was great, the Ball was wonderful, Geordi was so nice, and Uhura spoke for 35 minutes at the start of her guest talk without being asked a question!

And for next year? They announced at the closing ceremonies that Stephen Furst and Peter Jurasik will be there! (Londo and Vir from Babylon 5). There was, shall we say, epic amounts of flail from me...you know when you have one of those moments where the only sound you can make is "EEEEEE" but you're in public so you can't very well and all you can do is clap like a demented sealion? Yes, that was me.

For the DOI fans on my flist, just seen that since Michael Underwood is out, Fred Palashak is back in, with one of the female celebs they have training as a backup, no word on who she is yet! (Though Sarah Cawood - who???- is being touted as a possibility)

Have only seen snips of Dancing on Ice, and only half looked at what I've seen. But it just occurred to me that, while I do not write RPF, if I did, I would currently be writing the one where Suzanne Shaw and Kristina Lenko bond over tales of their fidelity-challenged hubbies who go off and have babies in short order with other women who look a hell of a lot like them.

That is all.

Pairings for Dancing on Ice series 3

Tim Vincent & Viktoria Borzenkova
Sarah Greene & Fred Palascak
Chris Fountain & Frankie Poultney
Aggie MacKenzie & Sergey Malyshev
Greg Rusedski & Kristina Lenko
Suzanne Shaw & Matt Evers
Steve Backley & Susie Lipanova
Linda Lusardi & Dan Whiston
Michael Underwood & Melanie Lambert
Samantha Mumba & Pavel Aubrecht
Gareth Gates & Maria Filippov
Natalie Pinkman & Andrei Lipanov

First impressions - I love Kristina, and if Greg can get her into the final, I will forget that he's the only Canadian I never really liked. He is, after all, Canadian, and as we all know, "Skating in Canada is second only to breathing".

Steve Backley and Frankie? He's going to lift her all over the place!

Will be interesting to see Samantha Mumba and Pavel; I would have thought that Billie Barry would have stood her in good stead. Though apparently she's torn ligaments and has lost four weeks of training.

I'm feeling very sorry for Sergei Malyshev, especially as he's (I'm fairly sure) the poor sap who got lumbered with Tamara Beckwith in season one!

And woe! Dancing on Ice Defrosted has been axed when I finally got ITV2 and was looking forward to looking it and bitching about the presenter!

Interesting day shopping in town today, thinking at various times that I had lost a hat and an earring (did manage to find both) and then managing to find Due South season three boxset (ie, the one I don't have in Canadian format) in R2 box set, with a sticker I couldn't read that said either 49.99 or 69.99. Tempted at it by one price but not the other, I went up to the desk and asked the girl what the price was. She couldn't read the sticker any more than I could, so scanned it in and pronounced that the number that was confusing me was indeed a four. So I went "hmmm" and then, inspiration strikes. "I don't suppose you take those Post Office All-in-One gift tokens here?" "Yes we do." Because I got one of those for Christmas and haven't had a chance to spend it yet... the value? 50 euros. Hey, I understand meant to be when it presents itself to me, ergo I am now the proud owner of DS Season Three, with special features, including a documentary! Not sure if it's the one that was on Bravo at Christmas, if so yippee, if not yippee anyway!

Dancing on Ice Week 3 )

It's amazing how all it takes it literally 5 seconds of seeing Joshua Jackson on the Tubridy Tonight (Irish chat) show to turn me into a drooling wreck... ah, Pacey. I just want to look at my Dawson's Creek DVDs now. He's a fine looking man. And apparently, he, like the rest of the acting world, is in Bobby. I can't remember if I knew that or not, but it's just another reason to make me want to go to see that film!

And while I've not had a chance to type up my thoughts on DoI yet, and not having ITV2 (or do we in my parents house? Must check!) I can't look at Defrosted but apparently, the presenter is making a career out of slighting Natalia? Guy needs to be taken out and shot... and she's just the person to do it too! You do not disrespect Natalia, and this is from someone who's not even a particular fan of the woman!

Though I can say that Kay annoys the bejesus out of me, I have rarely been more scared for anyone than I was for Pam O'Connor tonight, unless it was poor Kristina, and that Ulrika definitely got the nicest dress!

Will have many things to say about the first episode of Dancing on Ice after the results show. Perhaps then I will have been able to shut my mouth over the fact that they got Natalia Bestemianova as a judge, that she completely didn't irritate me, and that her English is rather good!

And, taken from [livejournal.com profile] dragonsinger, this meme I'm hoping will kick start the old muse again!

Give me one of my own stories, and a timestamp sometime in the future after the end of the story, or sometime in the past before the story started, and I'll write you at least a hundred words of what happened then, whether it's five minutes before the story started or ten years in the future.

With thanks to [livejournal.com profile] mini_miss I now have my links thingy back at the side there, so I can get to my friends page easily... thank you!

[livejournal.com profile] conjunkie, I now have some of the matchups for Dancing On Ice next week... if you've not seen them, apparently they go like this:

Ulrika Jonsson - Pavel Aubrecht (Nope, never heard of him)
Stephen Gately - Kristina Lenko (who is now back to Lenko, having been billed as Cousins last year... someone, somewhere, on some show, please ask her about this!)
Neil Fox - Pam O'Connor (hopefully, she'll have better luck than last year)
Emily Symons - Dan Whiston (hopefully his skating has improved from last year... I thought he was awful!)
Lisa Scott-Lee - Matt Evers (yay, I liked him, and now that he's not lumbered with Bonnie, I am happy)
Duncan James - Maria Filipov (Never heard of her, though I'm surprised that an A seems to be missing at the end of her name)
Kieran Bracken - Melanie Lambert (ditto to the never hearing of her. Or him for that matter)

Apparently, Natalia Pestova may also be involved as are Jon O'Dougherty (Pam's partner and fiancé) and Linda Aubrecht (not heard of her, but I'd assume she's related in some way to Pavel) As for the judges, there's a rumour that all but Krez are back... so I don't know what they'll do if there's a tie (back to the public vote I suppose?) but as long as they don't dust Joanne Conway out of retirement, I'm fine...
