(no subject)

OK, the next time I let over a month go by without updating my website? Please, shoot me. Of course, it's a blessing that I'm trying to get that started tonight because thanks to that first lines drabble challenge meme that's infiltrated my friends list, I've written 6, yes, count them, six drabbles of between one and five hundred words tonight. Six. One is from christinekh, one from michellek and 4 are from medie - so my question is this. Is it ok with you all if I post them in a block here tomorrow, and then link to them from your comments pages? Because otherwise (medie especially) your LJ is going to be horrifically spammed by me!

In school related news, HelsinkiPrincipal entered the classroom today, and reminded me that the entrance exams will be at the end of January. This was not news to me, since everything is being moved up as Easter is horrifically early this year. Then he dropped the further bomb. They are doing up the town church. Which is not, of course, a bad thing, except for the fact that that means that they're going to have the Confirmation early this year. As in, more than likely before the February midterm break. Said midterm is Feb 18th and 19th.

Ergo, when we come back from Christmas break on Jan 10th, I'll have, at most, a month to whip English, Irish and Maths into them to get them through the test. At the same time, I'll have to be battering Religion into them for Confo, to say nothing of the music and the art that goes along with that. Plus preparatory ceremonies will have to be prepared and carried out. Then after that, we'll have a little over a month before the Easter break, and then something like a thirteen week summer term, with a rowdy 6th class with nothing concrete to hold over them to keep them interested and working.

It's going to be a long summer term. A long year.

On the other hand, if I have a six weeks like that between Christmas and the February mid term... I'm going away for the midterm. I'm going to SG9 at the midterm. And Jesus, God and all the saints in Heaven, if I've entrance exams and Confirmation over me, I'm going to be letting my hair down in style that weekend!

Paying it Forward...

Since I'm drabbling for Ireland here, I think everyone else should suffer as well... have also learned I've written a lot of fic with some dire first lines. You know the drill by now... Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to write a drabble with the same first line as one of my stories, and leave it in my comments here. Any fandom, any pairing or gen, and you can interpret "drabble" as loosely as you want.
