First day of school... one down, 182 to go!!!

*sigh* Class seem to be ok, a little chatty but that should improve once I do actual real work with them. Classroom is there (new prefab) and my stuff got moved in for me... lots of today spent looking in piles/boxes trying to remember what the hell I had at the end of the year (I'm convinced a ream of sugar paper has gone walkies, and I know a bag with a load of maths activities/games has) and trying to find new homes for everything, and trying to realise what furniture needs to be kept for other stuff... I used my small bookcase for copies/books for the kids, then the LibraryOrganiserTeacher came in and told me that no, that was my library. Which is fine, but then I went into NextDoorTeacher and she had a brand new small bookcase like mine, but also another library shelf, which was obviously second hand... I'm not impressed. Long story short, I may be looking for new furniture. My principal will hate me.

Also, I have no class textbooks, so had to scare those up, and have to get him to order a shitload of the supplementary materials... joy and bliss. I get the feeling the next few days/weeks are going to be fun.

I want my summer back.

In addition to that fact? Vodafone told their Irish customers a few months ago that once you have Vodafone Passport, all roaming charges (the charges that basically double your phone bill when you're in a foreign country) are cancelled/don't apply to you. Since I have that feature and travel quite a bit, I welcomed this news. Got my phone bill today... has charges from July, which appeared on my last bill... I check the two bills, and see that they're from texts and while the numbers are different, the times tally exactly, and the number on my new bill is all the same (the ones on the first bills are the numbers of whomever I was texting at the time.) I rang up, enquired what the hell, and given a detailed explanation of how a text goes from the UK to Ireland and the different networks and the roaming charges involved... I said, "Yes, but I thought roaming charges were gone once you had Vodafone passport?" I was told, "Yes, I can see where that might be misleading... abolition of roaming charges only applies to calls, you're still charged roaming for texts."

To which I say, MIGHT be misleading???? The blinking ad (and I wish I still had the print copy they sent in my bill one month) said from a certain date, all roaming charges were gone, they made a huge hoo-haa about it. Nothing about it being call exclusive, unless it was in the small print which I wouldn't put it past them... I am not amused!
