Date: 2013-11-02 09:19 pm (UTC)I'm a little conflicted to be honest. On the one hand I think anything that gives Cath more screen time and some actual agency, as opposed to being Steve's girlfriend who he goes to for favours, is a good thing. I even like the idea of a good old fashioned love triangle- it's the soap fan in me, what can I say?
I don't like how, from what I've heard, Danny seemed to be planting the seed of why do you let her work with her ex type thing, because my head canon has Danny and Cath as good friends. Jealous Steve I have no problem with - I'm one of those people who think he's been stringing Cath along, more or less, he needs something to make him realise what he has.
The way they did it...I was shocked when they killed Billy. (Less when I heard about the actors schedule but still). And I'm interested to see where they go from here with Cath and her not being in the military. People seem to think they're clearing the way for her to join the team, I'm not sure about that, or would she even want to. I'm hoping it'll let Steve see another side to her, a side where he's the one who's worrying about her and taking care of her (if that makes me anti feminist, I don't care. Sue me). I do wish they could have played out the love triangle though.
But as long as Steve and Cath come out of it ok, I'm happy.
