helsinkibaby21 What about LJ keeps you coming back? (Because let's be honest. This place is old. BUT WE ALL LOVE IT ANYWAY. WHY???)
Honestly? Because it's my fandom home.
I have been here for over ten years, that's a lot of memories invested here. I love the format, even when DDOS attacks mean you can't get into it for ages. I love my user pics and how I have more than I could ever possibly use. I love the people here, new and old, and I love how familiar it is. I'm not a great one for moving on to the shiny new thing just because it's the shiny new thing.
I say, if it ain't broke, don't fix it, and LJ ain't broke for me yet.
I've been meaning to link this since I tracked it down since seeing it in tumblr - it's for fandom but it rings true for my LJ experience as well.
Fandom was/is just a phase. Fandom could never be just a phase. Fandom is where you found a friend, a sister, a kindred spirit. Fandom is where you found a talent, a love, a reason. Fandom is where you found yourself.
