siljamus who requested Criminal Minds, JJ/Hotch, lullabies. As you can see, my originality with titles continues!
Like any new mother, JJ knows to get some sleep when the baby is sleeping. And like any new mother, JJ is very good at doing just that. Just like she's very good at waking up instantly at the first sound.
She lifts her head from the rather comfortable pillow that is Hotch's chest, ready to leap towards the bassinet in the corner, but what she sees there stops her in her tracks as much as Hotch's hand on her waist telling her to stay put.
Jack and Henry are on either side of the bassinet, paying no attention to their parents, only their week old sister. "Sssh" Jack says, finger to his lips. "Don't wake Dad and JJ."
"We could sing to her," Henry suggests. "Mamma always sings to me when I wake up."
The two boys share a solemn nod and moments later their voices are blending in almost harmony and not quite unison to "Twinkle Twinkle, Little Star." JJ's heart is so full she feels it might literally burst with emotion and when she looks up at Hotch, sees the smile on his face and the look in his eyes, she knows he feels exactly the same.
He leans down, brushes a kiss over her forehead and they let their sons sing them to sleep.
