Title: His Eyes

Spoilers: AU, nothing unless you don't know about Will and Henry.
Notes: The prompt was "any, a visit in the hospital"
Summary: Hotch in the hospital after Henry is born.
Hotch stands at the back as the rest of the team crowd around JJ, eager to catch a sight of the newborn child in her arms. Garcia is near tears, Reid is speechless and through it all, JJ is smiling the tired smile that he remembers so well from when Haley was cradling a newborn Jack.
When everyone else has said their piece, looked their fill, when Hotch has no excuses left, he takes a step forward. He shakes Will's hand, offers congratulations to him and JJ and then finally, he looks down at the baby.
Just then, as if by magic, the sleeping child's eyes open and realisation shoots through Hotch like a thunderbolt.
Long years of practice keep his face neutral, does the same for JJ's when her eyes meet his and with some difficulty he leans down and kisses her cheek, wishes her well.
Tries not to think too hard about that fact that her son has his son's eyes.
His eyes.
