The last time I did a meme (the 100 words ramble one) someone asked for Sara/Lockwood, and then made the comment that they wanted to go back and read A Fool for Lesser Things.

I did the same thing myself.

And now, not only am I considering going back and fixing the Sara backstory of it all, I'm also considering AUs to it (which should at least kickstart my [livejournal.com profile] au100 claim) and there is a playlist on my iPod to do with it... who was it wanted a fanmix? You just might get it!

*shakes head* I was done with that three years ago....

I did the ramble for 100 or more words meme... and I find it entirely interesting that of the four rambles, the three ships that I write that are mentioned are three that have never got together on the screen! What does that say about me?

They are all here -

Janet/Carson (Stargate)

Malcolm Barrett/Carolyn Lam (SG1)

Nick/Greg (CSI)

Sara/Cyrus (CSI) based on own story, "A Fool for Lesser Things".

Meme gakked from [livejournal.com profile] trollprincess, word for word!

Rec me (and the rest of this friends list) the fanfic you've written that you love the most. It doesn't have to be the best thing you've ever written, or the funniest, or the saddest. Just the one you're proudest of, whether it's as a guilty pleasure or as a show of just how talented you can be. ('Cause I've read your stuff and I know how many of you are really, really good.)

If people could only read one fic that you'd written, which one would you make them read?

Like I could resist this one!

My choice -- A Fool for Lesser Things for CSI

Summary -- Sara finds the greatest miracle of all, right where she least expected it.

Why I love this story -- First of all, because it's unusual - at least, I've never come across any other Sara/Lockwood fic on the internet. At 92,000 plus words, it's easily the longest thing I've ever written, and it spans most of season three, starting at Let the Seller Beware going right up to the season finale. And despite the writers' best attempts, I'm also proud to say that I managed to write the whole thing only deviating from what was shown on the screen in one instance (and I wouldn't have even done that, except I kinda had to). And it made people cry, which I meant it to do, so that's also a good thing.

Friends list - what should I read of yours??

Fic update.

Dreams Come True ) is a CSI Sara/Lockwood, for the [livejournal.com profile] csreports "Write a character not normally written" challenge.

Further Along the Rocky Path ) is a Buffy, Faith/Robin piece for the [livejournal.com profile] writers_choice redemption challenge.

Have just looked at the movie night of American Idol. No results until Saturday, which kinda sucks, but quick thoughts...John Stevens is back! Loved George, I don't care what the rest of them thought. Fantasia was amazing. LaToya and Jennifer, both very very good. Diana and Jasmine I don't care that much about, though Jasmine was the best she's been in weeks. As for the Spastic Hobbit, he was everything I hate about him, I completely agreed with what Simon said, and the only thing that I should say to be fair to him is that he didn't sound like ten different singers trying to sing one song. He sounded like one demented person shouting one song. I hate him. Have I mentioned that?

Let's get the ranting out of the way, shall we, with the torture known as American Idol, which I've just finished watching. Where I wonder what crimes does he have to inflict upon music for to get that no-account, no-talent, can't sing, can't dance, ugly-as-sin ego with feet off my tv screen? )

I feel ten pounds lighter now.

Did I mention I have a half day of school left before the holidays? Because I do.

And fic. For the [livejournal.com profile] csreports anniversary challenge, where I also incorporated the REM song titles challenge. It's called Star 69 ) and it's a Sara/Warrick friendship piece, set in the Fool for Lesser Things universe. Anyone remember when I was finished with that after 92,000 words? Those were the good old days!

Also, more Alias fic - please tell Weiss to shut up! This is for the [livejournal.com profile] writers_choice Accidental Tourist challenge, where I prove I'm crap with titles, and that write what you know sometimes works, apart from when you end up with endings you really didn't expect! Accidental Tourists )

Having spent the last two days in bed, I did the whole venturing out thing today and went into Dublin... the sky is blue, who knew? Found the new Toby Keith album, which I await to hear with some trepidation (The Taliban Song anyone?) and also an Amanda Marshall album, which is like a greatest hits, for sale at forty euros. Having picked my jaw up off the floor, I took a principled stand and refused to buy it, and found it online just now for less than £20 sterling, including postage and packing, which is around 27euros. Said on the site that it will take four to six weeks delivery; I said it could take four to six months, I'd still wait before I paid 40euros for it.

Apparently Sci-Fi have picked up the new Battlestar Galactica for 14 episodes? Still have a quarter of the miniseries to watch, but I think that makes me happy.

And I've ordered my copy of the Michael Cerveris album Dog-Eared which is out on Tuesday. It must be mine, it simply must be. Mad happy dancing about that.

Fic, both for [livejournal.com profile] multifandom1000 challenges. The first is, I swear I'm not making this up, a 21 Jump Street fic, which I can partially blame on [livejournal.com profile] demon_faith asking me in a queue at SG7 if Peter DeLuise was a serious actor. Of course, she got the whole Doug/Marta storyline, complete with quotes, and when we looked over at poor Kyla, I'd reduced her to tears! So this, for those of you who don't know the story of Doug and Marta, is it in 682 words. An Anti-Fairy Tale )

Then, for those of you who just don't have enough angst in your lives, you might remember my big long CSI piece, A Fool for Lesser Things which was a Sara/Lockwood piece that stuck to canon. When I saw challenge #9, The Road Not Taken, this straight away leaped into my brain. I think it's quite obvious where it becomes AU! Roads Diverged )

And now I go to look at the first two eps of Jake 2.0.

But first? Have I mentioned I love Seth Cohen? OK then.

I can now screencap from DVD on my computer. Do I have the rockingest friends in the world or what???

Photos from the con - got a number of very nice ones, and in particular the holy grail, one of David Palffy smiling. Life is good.

Though there was a problem with one of the films - one print came out like someone got a big black marker and drew two lines on it, and it's a nice one of Steve Bacic - the negative is fine though, so that's going to the one hour tomorrow. As are the pics from around the same place, where there are two shots on the negatives that didn't get printed, while the next two shots on the negatives came out double... it's only on that roll that it's screwed up, and I know because I checked every frame of every negative against every print for six rolls of film yesterday... and I wonder why my eyesight is so bad.

There was other stuff I wanted to say and can remember none of it.

Except I don't think I gushed about the season premiere of 24. For those of you who don't care, I'll keep it brief. Dennis Haysbert. DB Woodside. ON THE SAME SCREEN That is all.

And on with the fic, both for the [livejournal.com profile] csreports Oingo Boingo title challenge. One is Warrick/Sara called Pictures of You ) and another fits into the Fool for Lesser Things universe - wasn't going to, but the title knocked me over and I had to- and it's kinda angsty and retrospective. It's called Fool's Paradise ) -- see what I mean about that title?
