Happy days of shopping today - found Anne of Green Gables - The Sequel on DVD in town! Yes, it was expensive, yes I could have got it cheaper online (and I'm about to get Anne 1 online to prove my point!) and yes, I have it on video. But this is DVD, this is Anne, and there are deleted scenes and a director's commentary and did I mention that it's got Gil on DVD? So yes, happy helsinkibaby.
Thursday's West Wing -
Liked the scenes with the horses at the start and the end of it. Elizabeth Moss is doing a great job with what they're giving her to do. Speaking of, Dule Hill and Joshua Malina both need more to do in the worst possible way.
The scene with Leo and Abbey where she tells him she doesn't want him in the Residence? Oh, that was painful. In a good and angsty way.
As opposed to the Josh/Amy kiss, that was just painful. Now I could just about have handled the kiss as Josh in a bad place and holding on to whatever he could that felt remotely real, and I have to say I loved the camera work at the start, where you see Amy as Josh is seeing her, all shaky-cam. However, the actual kiss itself was appalling...easily the worst edited and put together piece of footage I've ever seen on this show. What the hell was up with that? The shots of her feet and the taking off and the putting on of the shoes? The hell? It really did nothing for the emotion of the scene and I don't know what they were thinking.
Gary Cole. I love me Gary Cole. Gary Cole rocks and I want to see more of him.
And Haffley! No-one told me that Haffley was played by Steven Culp! Steven Culp with really bad hair, yes, but nonetheless, Steven Culp!
William Devane - still loving him too, but during the scene in the Oval with Bartlet, where he was smiling, I kept on thinking "All these years, and Greg Sumner's finally gotten to the White House" - too much Knot's Landing at an impressionable age!
MLP - it disturbs me to no end that, while the woman is undoubtedly showing her pregnancy, she still looks less pregnant than Jorja Fox did near the end of season three CSI. I know this discussion has been done to death, but I am just saying.
Navy NCIS - Good looking men, good one-liners, and I'm hoping that Tony and Kate stop that sniping sooner rather than later because otherwise I'm going to go all uncon shippage on the two of them and I really don't want to! And since it was Seadog that we saw, with hardly any Abby, let me just check; she does get more to do in later episodes, yes? Because I like her!
Anyone who reads Stargate SG1 Sam/Daniel fic should take a hop over to
butterflykiki 's journal and read the DVD Director's commentary meme that she did for Sonambulist which I've just killed the spelling of, and Statisical Outliers (or why we all should ship Sam/Daniel) because they're great. This is a meme that seems to be doing the rounds at the moment, and I've already made my requests of
neonhummingbird so therefore I suppose I should extend the offer my own self... ergo, if there are any of my stories that anyone here would like me to do a commentary on, pop it in the comments.

While watching the OC, with Seth in a tux, and with me expounding on my Seth-love, helsinkisister made the comment, "You know, if CSI Miami ever cast Speed's younger brother, they could do worse." There are times when she should not be allowed to speak.
Have just seen Mir's comment about the throw quadruple toe loop that she's just seen at Four Continents... it's a skating thing. I am in shock. And awe. And not a little jealous. Wow.
