helsinkibabySo, what, I hear you ask, could inspire such a subject line after spending yet another day in HelsinkiBaby's Religious Institute for Wayward and Catechicismically Challenged Sixth Class Youngsters?
Seriously - this was my third day of wall to wall religion. I know the Fruits of the Holy Spirit, and the Sevenfold Gift. We've covered the Joyful, Sorrowful and Glorious Mysteries of the Rosary. They've chosen saints' names and looked them up on the internet. Sponsors have been picked, and a prayer composed for them. I have personally traced the silhouettes of 80 children, almost broken the overhead projector twice, and supervised the painting of 30 of those self same silhouettes. I? Could receive the Sacrament of Confirmation with a smile on my face and a song - even one of the hymns I've been teaching! - in my heart. The kids in my class? Not so much.
So why do I smile? Why do I eeeee???
For upon arriving home, there waiting for me in an empty house?

It's a sign, I tell you, that my trials of religious instruction are being rewarded.
Of course, I also had to send out the note today that there appears to be a headlice infestation in the classroom... *HelsinkiBaby glances at her waist-length hair and worries* I swear to God, I was told that at ten this morning; my head's been itching all day! (Then I told the rest of the staff and similiarly afflicted them. Why should I be the only one suffering?)
Now... whatever shall I watch tonight???
