....the home stretch...

helsinkibabyHail Glorious Saint Patrick, dear saint of our isle...on us, thy poor children bestow a sweet smile....
But more importantly, he bestows on us a National Holiday, which I badly need! In tomorrow, for lots of Seachtain na Gaeilge fun (Irish week, don't ask!) and then off on Friday for the holiday, Monday just because we decided to take one of our floating holiday days then, and on Tuesday, we have PE inservice. Which means that we, the teachers, are in, but the kids aren't. Ergo, I have five days of no kids. *blissful sigh* When you want to kill even the good ones, you know you need a break!!
Am off to Manchester tomorrow until Monday evening, for a full four days spent in the company of HelsinkiFiancé... and I can't wait! *happy bounce* As luck would have it, we have Monday off, and Sunday is our anniversary, so we'll actually get to go out to dinner and celebrate it properly... as one of the other teachers at school said to me when she heard that, "Awwww!" Followed closely by, "Imagine, being engaged - and well engaged - on your first anniversary!"
I spent three hours in the hair dressers today. *head desk* Half an hour of that was sitting waiting, as my appointment was for half three, they didn't start me until four. Then I was there until half six being yanked and pulled and prodded... for those of you who've not seen a pic, I have a lot of hair! On the bright side, it looks spiffy, if a smidge blondier than I'm used to... but I really like it! And if Himself doesn't, I'll just batter him!
Not sure if I'll be back here over the weekend, or even tomorrow, so will say a pre-emptive "Lá Fhéile Pádraig Shona Daoibh!" (Happy St Patrick's Day!)
