You can give out about the kids you teach, and every so often,they will surprise you. Today I had only a few students in, as most of them had the Entrance Exams for the local secondary schools during the day... three of the girls came in who were leaving at lunchtime to do one of the exams... and two of them came in with homemade thank you cards for me, the other had a bought card and a little box of Maltesers for me, all of them saying something along the lines of "Thank you Miss for all the work you did with us for our entrance exams, we learned a lot from you"... I kid you not, I almost cried right there at the top of the classroom.

And I am so looking forward next week to actually teaching history and geography and science and taking a break from the relentless drumming of Irish English and Maths! I'm even looking forward to doing PE and Art, and if you knew how much I hate especially the former, that would speak volumes to you!
