Am so tired! Today was official parent teacher meeting day, where due to the constraints placed upon us by various pay deals, we as primary school teachers are obligated to do out of school time. (Though most of us are seeing parents at lunch times and after school on other days to ease the burden, because 26 sets of parents in two and a half hours is not good, or even possible!) In true HelsinkiBaby style, I managed to have nice spaced out meetings with long breaks between them from a quarter past three until about five o'clock, whereupon I was non stop until the last meeting ended, a full half hour beyond my official finishing time of 5.45 (though I'd scheduled my last appointment for then). Left school at quarter past six, got to Mum's for dinner (I love my mammy) at 6.20 and was so tired/hungry/whatever else I was that I could barely eat.

But none of that matters for I have news!

I had one set of parents whose daughter is lovely. Very nice, very bright but a little nervous. And they told me (in their meeting that went double their alloted time, but I will forgive them due to the nugget of gold they dropped in my lap!) of her feelings when she heard I was to be her teacher this year.

"Her mood" I was told, and I do quote, "Can best be described as apprehensive." Here, he paused, as if to see how I was taking it. Then he continued. "Apparently, your reputation preceded you."

I repeat that.

"Apparently, your reputation preceded you."

DUDES, I HAVE A REPUTATION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I never thought I'd be a teacher with a reputation! I'm so happy!!!!! *does the twirling dance of joy and breaks out Larry Lindemann the Leprechaun icon*

(But she loves me now, so all is good.)

I have a reputation people! Yatta!!!!
