Well now.
*sits and struggles to pick jaw up from floor. Literally.*
*waits some more*
*and a little more*
Sweet fancy frakkin' Moses I can't believe they did that. I can't believe they did that. I can't believe they did that!!!
OK, having read a post on a con that mentioned Aaron my-side-your-side-ing around muttering "DeadCallyDeadCallyDeadCally" I shouldn't be surprised and in fact I saw it coming throughout the episode but I can't believe they did that.
I can't believe they did THAT!!!
Tory going off the reservation has been frankly signposted since the season three finale, IMO, and in the context of what we saw last week with Baltar, I can't be surprised at anything she does (the fleet bike much?) but this? Cold blooded murder? Frak!
AND! Just at the end, where it was only Adama and Tyrol? Where is Nicky? Is he there? Is someone minding him? Has Tory taken him? I wants to know!
Must say, Rekha Sharma and Nikki Clyne totally blew the doors off that scene. Which is an unfortunate comment given the context, but there ya go. First I thought Cally would kill herself with pills, then the airlock thing... and I really really thought Tory had come to save her, and that that's where they were going. Totally blindsided here.
Loved all the flashbacky stuff, and I've long had a soft spot for Chief and Cally so this broke my heart... I think it's very telling though, that the straw that broke Cally's back was Tyrol's idea that they should have another kid (and Galen, I adore you muchly, but band aid babies are not the way to go, especially as, frankly, your wife looks like she's got a serious case of PND) ... I don't think she was thinking clearly, but I think she was thinking clearly enough to know that she didn't want Nicky to have to live as a half Cylon... which is why this was all such a nightmare, not only is the man she's loved forever (as the flashbacks show) a Cylon, but so is her son.
In other thoughts, which I'm sure I have somewhere...
*Tom Zarek and Lee and the Quorum of 12... not sure where the hell this will end up but I'll put up with it for now.
*Adama reading to Roslin? *LOVE*
*The crew of the Demetrius... just who is minding Hera? There's going to be ructions on that ship very soon, you just know it.
*Sam and Kara. *sighs* "I married you because it was safe." Well, we all knew that, but Kara's turning into a craphouse rat holed up in there, and the whole "frak like the world is ending and nothing else matters"...oh me oh my. I read a couple of reviews before I posted this, to better get my thoughts in order, and a couple of people have mentioned the similarity between this and Buffy season six, to which I can only mutter a heartfelt "Oh sweet fancy frakking Moses, no" And I hate that they keep going around and around on this with the two of them, and I hate that he just takes it. I know that love is blind, but sheesh!
*The Cylons. First of all, please never let us see CylonAl and Boomer locking lips again. *shudder* Also, NakedCylonAl? Never ever again! The setup should have been obvious, but wasn't, at least to me, and there's no way that they're going to kill off all the 6s and 8s surely?
But the one remaining thought.
I CAN'T BELIEVE THEY DID THAT!
