Have spent the past 3 days testing the kids in school...standardised tests in maths and English, and a standardised spelling test. Not corrected the spellings yet, was disappointed yesterday in the maths, a lot of them went down and the results aren't reflecting the work that went in this year. The English, however, I corrected tonight, and there were kids going up anywhere between 5 and 22 points. Which had me happy dancing. (Two of the worst falls were from the girl who spends more time trying to tell me how to teach than learning her lessons, and the chap who rushes through his work to get it finished, won't check it over, and who knows damn well where capital letters and full stops go but won't bloody well put them in.)

I'm taking the win where I can find it!
