Strictly thoughts
I watched Anton's jive through my fingers, I thought it was absolutely horrendous. (This, after I've waited for years for someone to jive to Modern Love! Why Anton, why??) They were lucky they weren't in the dance off, and frankly, they deserved to be.

Agree with those who thought that Zoe was overmarked - no bounce whatsoever, and I think that the fact that the judges went easy on her and completely slated Craig (who, while not great, IMO showed improvement) might have hurt them. The fact that they were third on the leader board and still ended up in the dance off proves that no-one is safe, and that the new way of tabulating the scores if there's a tie is leaving the people at the top ever more vulnerable.

Am stunned that Craig went through, though from the look on her face, perhaps not as stunned as Flavia.

I hope Brian listens to Len about less being more...my sister and I both said the same thing looking at the jive, it's the second week in a row he's given her something really complicated, and if I'm not mistaken, the second week in a row we've seen her walk out of rehearsals totally moithered. She's very good, and has great potential but it's getting to be a confidence thing for her now.

I thought Ricky W was great but I wish Alesha hadn't been the one to give him that first ten... all I could hear was the critics powering up their laptops!

Don't know what is going on with Chris and his nerves, but he had the best bounce action of the night. And I love him and Ola.

Thank goodness Joe is gone! That's really all I have to say about that.

Natalie and Vincent, I am still not getting. Thought she was way skippy and they were overmarked.

Speaking of Skippy, I thought the bush kangaroo comment from Craig was uncalled for, I think he was trying to be clever but it just came off as mean. I have no issue with Brendan walking off at all... people on the message boards seem to be taking it as him having a strop, and while there was an element of that to it, I also believe quite strongly that, having spent the entire week building up Jo's confidence, he just didn't want to have it knocked any further, particularly since she herself was happy with what she'd done. Besides, appalling as Jo is (and she is, I can admit that much) she's also quite vulnerable, and as I've said before, being mean to her is like kicking a puppy... they can be critical of her without being so mean.

Next week, samba and American smooth... at the risk of being mean here, the thought of Vincent having to lift Natalie should be interesting.

Having seen Virtue and Moir's free dance from Trophée Eric Bompard, I just want to say that I am in the minority over on FSU who love it. I think it's subtle, I think it's graceful, I think it's romantic and I'm looking forward to seeing it grow over the season. As for Sasha Zhulin saying it's not the dance of an Olympic gold medal, well, to quote a famous quote, he would say that, wouldn't he?
