Well, when I posted on
profshallowness's journal a while ago that I thought we'd see an upset tonight, I was right. Not gone near Digital Spy to see how that's going (though my first thought would be combusting) but I had a feeling that there'd be an upset the minute I saw the scoring - Ann and Anton bringing up the rear with 17, then Scott and Natalie on 28, then three couples on 29? That is so not good. And I think Brendan thought so too, because after the board came up, you can see him behind Tess, legs crossed, finger on lips and he doesn't look happy at all.
Which is nothing to how he looked when Jimi went... I've never heard someone apologise for not leaving before, and how cute was poor Michelle's confusion? "They're leaving? They're leaving?" or whatever it was she was saying. She was expecting to go, that's clear, and for once I find myself feeling sorry for Flavia because she did not deserve to go. (Despite the fact that she stayed too long with Dan last year; the girl grinded her teeth so much that her dentist was the happiest man in Britain.) And at the end as they were all hugging Jimi, Brendan was off at the edge, hands on hips, wondering I would guess how the hell this happened.
Poor Jimi unable to speak! *hugs*
And also, because it cannot be said enough, as the title of
profshallowness's post says, "4, 9, what?" because the scoring continues to be ridic. I'm holding on to the fact that the two marks balanced one another out somewhat, but one was way over, the other way under. 6s and 7s were about right for that dance, and the proliferation of 8s given all over the place was insane.
And also? I find it hugely ironic that while the BBC probably gave Anne to Anton to punish him for the controversy of last year, she's probably his best ever chance of winning the show.
