helsinkibabySo despite the fact that I have missed at least the last three eps, for reasons that will be obvious to those who know me, because tonight Himself is on a night shift I sat down and watched last night's USA ep of NCIS LA, Lock Up
OK, I watched because Nate came back. I am shallow, sue me. But dude! So worth it! The bit where he showed up at HQ? Kensi's face, how it lit up when she saw him? Her breathless, disbelieving "Nate!" like she couldn't believe he was really there? THE WAY THAT SHE RAN TO HIM AND THREW HERSELF INTO HIS ARMS AND HAD HER ARMS AROUND HIS NECK AND HE HUGGED HER BACK AND THEY WERE BOTH SMILING GIDDILY IN FULL VIEW OF ERIC AND NELL AND HETTY AND DEEKS AND HOW HE MADE THE LITTLE JOKE "CAREFUL, ERIC'LL BE JEALOUS" AND IT WAS ALL SO ADORABLE AND HOLY MOLY I HAVE SHIPPED FOR SO MUCH LESS THAN THAT AND I THINK MY HEAD MIGHT JUST EXPLODE FROM THE CAPSLOCK OF IT ALL!!!!!
*ahem* It may be possible that I have looked at that scene more than once.
*AND!!!!!!!* When they thought that someone had been made inside the prison? When Eric (I think) pointed out that Mo or Sam could be in danger? Kensi turning to Hetty and going, with emphasis, "Or Nate? We have to abort" BECAUSE HER FIRST THOUGHT WAS TOTALLY FOR HIM AND SHE DIDN'T CARE ABOUT THE MISSION OR ANYTHING ELSE LIKE THAT BECAUSE NATE'S SAFETY WAS ALL IMPORTANT TO HER. (I may be reading in there a little.)
But yeah, shipped for way less!!!
Nate has gotten some moves while he was away! Which I know that PC tweeted about, but man, seeing it? Where is our mild mannered psychologist gone? (And as someone on TWoP posted about the third ep when he and Kensi had no scenes together, they had to keep him away from her in that episode because with her thing for bad boys she'd take one look at the angst and the stubble and the dangerous nature of him and she'd jump on him in a heartbeat and man I want to read the post ep where she does that!!!)
The stuff with Mo and Sam and the terrorist group... I did not expect them to kill Mo at the end and my heart broke for Sam when they did. But between that and the Foreshadowing Conversation of Doom between Nate and Hetty in HQ, this is obviously going to ratchet up the stakes for Sam and lead perhaps somewhere to the season finale.
Which leads me to Callen and the Mysterious Graveside Stranger... is it a separate storyline as it appears or will it all link up in the end?
Hetty visiting Callen's sister's grave because a walk in the graveyard puts everything in perspective for her? I call bullshit... I still think she knows more about Callen's past than she's admitting to.
And! I take it I'm supposed to read something into the whole Eric/Nell/Nate conversation, where Nell greeted him by name and Eric was all, you know one another and Nate was like we go back a few years... if Nell is as young as she appears, how far back could they possibly go? And was it professional or personal? Enquiring minds want to know!
But again....the hug!!!! The smiling! The throwing herself at him! Happy shipper am I!!!
