Title: In a Different Light
Author: helsinkibaby
Fandom: Hawaii 5-0
Pairing: Danny/Kono
Rating: PG
Disclaimer: Not mine.
Spoilers: The Christmas episode of season one.
Word Count: 200
The first Christmas he spends in Hawaii, Danny spends the build up pissed off. He has a crappy apartment, an even crappier tree that prisoners would laugh at, and no Santa suit. He's not looking forward to it, apart from Grace, the light of his life, who he gets to see for six precious hours.
He's not looking forward to Christmas but then he spends Christmas Eve trying to save Chin's life and he realises how much these people mean to him
He realises how much he means to them when they spend Christmas morning at his place, getting it ready for Grace, even helping him sew a tent like Santa suit into something that will fit him.
Kono opens the door to Grace, looking girlier than he's ever seen her outside of an undercover op. He can't help but notice the way she is with Grace, how relaxed, how the slip of material that's masquerading as a dress does amazing things to her skin and her hair and her eyes.
He's supposed to be looking at his daughter but he can't take his eyes off Kono either and he's suddenly thinking that maybe Christmas in Hawaii isn't that bad.
