Small Fandoms Fest Fandom Pimp for Flashforward -- man, do I miss this show. Talk about your untapped potential.
Today is Thursday, the last night of three that Himself is working nights. It is also my technical Friday, being as two thirds of my class will have their entrance exams for the local secondary schools tomorrow (the remaining third will sit theirs next month) and they will not be in. The remaining children will be helping me organise files/work/science boxes/random equipment boxes organised in my room; they may even be called to help other, non sixth class teachers to do various bits and pieces. And for the first time in my teaching career today, I did not even front with them; when they asked me would they be doing work (meaning maths/Irish/writing of any sort) I looked at them, I did not blink and I told them, "You are going to be my slaves, I will work you til you drop."
It being a technical Friday I feel no shame in cracking open a bottle of wine, despite the fact that I made a new year resolution that I would only drink at weekends. I have had a week and a half this week, to the point that I was telling some of the other teachers that I felt like the kid with his finger in the dam trying to stop the flood, and every time that he got one blocked, another one popped up. There has literally been two or three incidents every single day with my class; kids you'd expect it from and ones that you wouldn't and it is completely wearing me down. I have earned this glass of wine damn it and I am going to enjoy it!
