In a type of sequel to my post of a few days ago, I've spent the last couple of days looking through some work for old fandoms that I did, trying to remember what it was to be involved in fandom actively, trying to remember what it was like to actually write in them... and man, looking over some of the stuff I put up, I've got to say, not to blow my own trumpet or anything like that, but it wasn't half as bad as I thought it was! Going to put some of the longer stuff up on AO3 when I get a chance to; have already put a few there... ah, the memories.

I just wish I was still able to write like that!

I've also been reading a few stories that I loved back in the day, and I'm linking two of them there so that I'll never lose them again! Both are Sports Night related, as you might expect with me looking at the Olympics so much at the moment!

The Olympic Spirit by [livejournal.com profile] freedomfry, in which it is 2004 and Dan and Casey are watching Paul Hamm compete in the Olympic men's all around competition. I don't think spoiler tags are needed because the competition was eight years ago, but let's just say that Dan learns a little something about the Olympic spirit!

And now, one of the best things I've ever read of any kind in my life, ever and I read it again last night and I still cried, Himself was alarmed. It's Mend by [livejournal.com profile] neonhummingbird and it's a West Wing/Sports Night crossover. Summary reads Years after the Rosslyn shooting took a tragic turn, Donna finally faces moving on. That hardly does it justice however; it's heartbreaking and hopeful with perfect characterisation from both shows. Go get some tissues and read it!
