Things come in threes...

So spent much of today doing Mother's Day cards and crafts with ten year olds and being on yard duty. Which is as fun as it sounds. Got asked by one of my colleagues when we were picking up the kids at Montessori if I'd hears about our mutual colleague, MC, who is apparently retiring and had quietly told a few people but had the gaff blown wide open when Fr E announced it from the pulpit today that this would be her last confirmation ceremony. I am very surprised and also a bit WTF because MC is one of the senior teachers to me, which means that when she goes, I am now 5th in seniority in my school. On a staff of close to 30. *boggles*

Still reeling from that, I get the text from the sister to tell me that Television Without Pity are shutting down at the end of the week. Apart from the whole end of an era thing that I have going on, I love the forums over there and the recaps have been a part of my fandom life for as long as I can recall, back to Dawson's Creek days. (Yes. I have been here a long time!) Those recaps saved my bacon on mynah an occasion; there are some fics I could not have written without them.

So that was two, and by the time I saw this evening that Michelle Borth is leaving Hawaii Five 0, I was like, "oh thank god that's three because I am done with today." NGL I had a feeling this might be coming, MB's been Twitter silent for a fortnight at least which is never a good sign. I'm upset about the news because I like Catherine (though parts of the writing for her drive me batty, which sad to say is a H50 problem in general) and I really like the Steve/Cath ship (the times that the writers know what to do with it.) I know that a lot of people don't like MB because of the Twitter shenanigans and I don't blame anyone for that... I just know I likes the character whatever her portrayer gets up to and I repeat what I've said before- she shouldn't have done what she did, any of the times she did it, but there was an element of fandom that gave her a lot of shit from day one that I don't think she actually deserved. There were two of them in it (MB and her anti-fans) and neither side was entirely innocent (apart from the people who got accused in the wrong). I'm wondering how much the twitter stuff impacted on this, that and the fact they have Jorge Garcia signed on too...

I just hope they don't kill her. I really do not want that.

And now I go to watch skating!

Wow, TWoP closing. I was never there much, I think I read a recap or two once upon a time, but even I know how fond of the forums many fen were and are. End of an era.

I guess Michelle Borth is leaving because Grace Park is coming back off maternity leave, possibly?
