[livejournal.com profile] profshallowness - fic for you! I'm getting through these quite well, surprisingly enough... [livejournal.com profile] dynamic_gravity there's a comment directed at your request in the comments for Comfort Zone either here or at [livejournal.com profile] warricksara -- would you object to me rolling in the vacation prompt to a Warrick POV sequel?

Title: Superglue
Fandom: Jake 2.0
Pairing: Kyle/Diane
Rating: PG, angst
Series: Part of the, for want of a better title, Sotto Voce universe, all of which can be found at my site The Band Gazebo
Notes: For profshallowness, whose prompt was something Diane-centric, and she’s holding something broken in her hand.

I hate Hector Ó hEochagáin with a passion, and yet I am looking at Hanging With Hector and waiting for Six Feet Under on E4+1...why? Because he's hanging with the Meath football team and the legendary manager, (shortly to head into his 23rd year in charge of the team) the great Sean Boylan. Hector, for those of you who don't know, is an Irish-spouting lunatic from County Meath, who thinks he's way funnier than he is... but he's being introduced to the team and genuflecting in front of Trevor Giles... as we all should. And this means nothing to anyone on my friends list, becauses you don't know anything about GAA (Gaelic football) so I'm shutting up now.

Fic! Jake 2.0, Kyle/Diane for the [livejournal.com profile] writers_choice home challenge.

Title: Taking You Home
Pairing: Kyle/Diane
Rating: PG
Word Count: 998
Summary: “Will you take me home?”

Title: Feels Like Home

Summary: For the first time, Diane feels like she’s home.

And in other news, I finally caved today and bought myself a decent printer! It's pretty and shiny and fast (considering my old one was older than Methuselah and would have to work up to being a piece of s***, I'm all asquee!)

On the other side of the page, there is a link to the Variations on a Plot fic challenge. I wrote mine when it was first put up, and promptly forgot about it. Since [livejournal.com profile] dragonsinger wrote a reminder, I thought I should rectify that. So here we go, Jake 2.0 fic, how, in my little universe, Kyle and Diane first met. [livejournal.com profile] taraljc as soon as I do a site update, I'll put it up on the JMD...unless you want to do it yourself, your wish is my command!
And So It Begins )

I'm off to the Alias con tomorrow morning, so you're not going to hear from me until Monday night...

[livejournal.com profile] taraljc first draft of the Middleman fic is finished. Until I get it beta read, you'll have to make do with this, but you need to see this before you see the other anyway!

Title: Suspended in Time
Pairing: Kyle/Diane
Rating: PG
Spoilers: Post ep for Whiskey Tango Foxtrot
Suspended in Time )

And now I have to make sure I have everything packed (because dude, my bag is closing way too easy!), then go and look at Without a Trace, and before that, my computer has finally finished downloading the G&G tribute video that [livejournal.com profile] azarsuerte recced earlier in the week...

{deep calming breaths}

I'm fine.

Everyone needs to sign up for this challenge - The Variations on a Plot Fic Challenge -- the hardest part for me? Burning it down to 1000 words.

This is the latest part in the whole Jake 2.0 Kyle/Diane backstory I've been meitheal-ing on. Blame it on the [livejournal.com profile] multifandom1000 A Day of Sport challenge and the book I'm reading at the moment!
Living in a Moment )
>*<*>*<
For those of you who are interested, or curious, I do have the timeline all worked out and I'm even sure that it fits into series canon if that's what you choose to believe from this... because I'm delusional that way. And I'm currently trying to do the biglongepicthing for it, which is getting split between the latest Pieces of my Life because Greg Bartlet and Ellie Sanders have decided they want to speak to me, oh yay!

Still with the big long list of fics that need doing... I must make a comprehensive one, but it scares me.

Jake 2.0, Upgrades episode thoughts, with added commentary from The Subtext Channel )

Also, just wanted to post this, which was a few lines of commentary that put me away when I was looking through my Babylon 5 DVDs today (I've been dipping in and out all week. Big surprise). Today's offerings included Shadow Dancing and a scene between Sheridan and Franklin that I'd forgotten was there and which had never made me cry before had me bawling like a child today. It's all about Franklin's spiritual awakening after his near-death experience, what he learned - it's deep and meaningful under any circumstances, but this week? Really hit home. The Moments )

You know, school would be great if it wasn't for the kids.

All mine stayed at home today. Got my desk cleared, filing done, and even had time to scan some photos into the computer. Yard duty was a doddle because at least 60 kids were missing... a really nice today. Back to normal tomorrow, but we can't have everything.

It appears TV3, in their insanity, aren't showing the American Idol results show until SATURDAY -- I think we're getting the competition tomorrow and the results on SATURDAY -- this is insane! I was just going to stay offline all day tomorrow and not go on until the show was over, like I did last year... but SATURDAY ??? I'm appalled.

Also appalling me is the fact that tomorrow, we get the last ever Jake 2.0. Which, once it's done, will mean that there is no reason why I shouldn't write the big long Kyle/Diane/Jake fic that [livejournal.com profile] profshallowness heard me waffling on about last week... tell me again the reasons I shouldn't do this, please.

In the spirit of the above characters not shutting up, I have one for the [livejournal.com profile] multifandom1000 open week, back to #13, Secrets. This one is part of the same universe as the last one I did, and thus can be considered either containing preshow history or total AU, YMMV. It's a post-ep for the pilot ep, and it's Kyle/Diane. Still-Same Sparks )

Also, GIP... I really don't need to write another epic fic. I don't. I don't.

American Idol thoughts will come tomorrow. Cannot check friends list as am terrified of reading Angel spoilers (cut tags people, please!) and since there's a one day on Sunday that I'm going to, I can wait that long. Don't want to know a thing!!!

I have fic, surprise surprise. For the [livejournal.com profile] csreports challenge, I have a Warrick/Sara fluff piece that saved my sanity as I was sloughing through Kawalsky/Ainsley for The Pairings That Ate Fandom Round 7. Daisy )

And since I've been talking about it for a while, I have a Jake 2.0 fic. Which is, I swear to God, Kyle/Diane. No, I did type that right, and I'm so relieved that my uncon ship genes seem to be kicking back in. I was missing them for a while there. The title sucks but was the best that I could come up with, but I'll write tailor made fic for anyone who can come up with one that I like better. Changes )

EDITED to point out that the above Jake 2.0 fic is a post ep for Blackout which I'm not sure if it's aired in the States at this point? It contains heavy spoilers for that episode... this is what happens on the rare occasions that we go ahead of people this side of the pond... apologies.

And now I must go and see if anyone has advance news of the CSI season finale. Oh yes, spoiler girl for this I shall be, to the point where I think I'm going to set my alarm an hour early so that I can get in some online time before I go to school. Nothing like a little fandom to get you through the day!
