The Band Gazebo

OK, I've a big bang to start and I've spent the last three nights staring at a blank page and there is nothing forthcoming! So in an effort to produce something, anything, I'm saying, prompt me!

Pick a fandom, a pairing and some form of prompt and I will write something!

I figure I should probably post with a school update since we're back a week... my class this year (or for the next seven or so weeks, is it a bad sign that I'm counting?) are very nice, but very chatty. Very chatty.

My classroom was meant to get a permanent data projector suspended from the ceiling over the summer; this never got installed. Nor did my new big whiteboard, which is going on the opposite wall of the classroom to the current whiteboard... which means that, in a matter of days/weeks I'm going to have to reorganise the desks so that all of the children are facing 90 degrees anti-clockwise, not to mention move my desk from one side of the room to the other. (When I say I, I of course mean someone who is not me because I'm lifting nothing.)

This means that I am not too bothered about finding permanent homes for things/resources etc in the room at the moment, as all will be moved in a short time anyway. Combine this with the fact that I'll be finishing up at the end of October, which is normally when you're just getting to grips with a class, and you've got a serious case of the so-whats. Which is made worse by tiredess, to the point that when the nurse on Monday at my routine checkup said to me that if I was ever getting too tired/run down and just felt like I needed to take a couple of days, to let her know and she'd get me a cert, I seriously considered it. And this is me, of whom Himself has often said "One day, you will be dying on the floor somewhere, and your last words will be, 'No, really, I'm fine!'"

Mood probably not helped by the fact that Himself and everyone else is going off to a con in England at the weekend, and I am not. On the one hand, I know it was the smart call. The con's in Daventry, so it's planes, trains and automobiles time, I'm wrecked from school going back and Nimoy and there's no way I could do a con and not end up a sobbing wreck in a corner somewhere (how you know I'm tired beyond the point of tiredness, I cry for no reason.) Still, I'm kinda wishing I was going!!!

SO, to distract me and make me think I'm really losing my mind, anyone want to hit me with a drabble prompt? You know the drill...fandom, character/pairing and prompt, and I'll see what I can come up with...

Spent day today in town with smiley_b doing the whole girly shopping thing... we did very well for ourselves, got bridesmaids' jewelry (having got mine during the week) and I found the Heroes "Saving Charlie" book and treated myself to it! *yay* Looking forward to reading that one.

In other wedding ticky-the-box news, got all my church paperwork in order last night, or so I thought, until the priest realised that the offical State registration form that they sent back to me had our address spelled wrong... he says we need to get that sorted out. Cue me panicking, and Himself being ordered to make that phone call on Monday morning!

Also have hair trial on Monday afternoon, yay!
