Blackmailing his own son? Dan is horrible and I hate him. Karen? Shut up. Shut the hell up, get off your high horse and be with Keith, the man who loves you. And Keith? You deserve so much better than her... like me! Was that really Bethany Joy Lenz singing? And Karen? Shut up. Because it can never be said enough.


OK, I'm very happy with those results. Fantasia was the better performer, and I liked her all the more because she was so nervous during both shows...it was blatantly obvious that she had no idea if she was going to win or not, there was no sense of false modesty about her. She really did mean it. Have to say fair play to Diana though (although I did catch myself thinking "Aww! The little robot that could!") - she really carried herself well during the results show, she was a really gracious loser.

Performances... Diana first. The I Believe was very good, No More Tears was excellent, but Don't Cry Out Loud... oh my, that was rancid. She went off key, she went flat, she shouted, she bleated... it was everything that I don't like about her performances, all in one performance and I really do believe it could have cost her the title.

Fantasia ... All My Life... not great. She missed the first line, the judges were right, the arrangement was awful, but I couldn't help but remember that this is a song that was meant of K-Ci and Jojo...it's a two part male harmony, and it was a bad arrangement and she didn't do too badly with it, considering that. Summertime was outstanding and as for I Believe... wow. Just wow. Easily the best performance that she's done.

Results show... I believe Jasmine sang Midnight Train to Georgia? TV3, in their infinite wisdom, may have shunted the show onto Saturday rather than Thursday night, but they chacked Jasmine and for that, there are no words to profess my love for them. We didn't get to see Tamyra do the anthem either. Putting Clay over in North Carolina... well, that was one way of making sure he didn't sing. I did eeeeee!! when Kelly and Ruben came out to do Impossible Dream (though I gotta say, some of Diana's notes... Luther would be spinning in his grave if he were dead) and I liked Kelly's song...as for Ruben's... oh my. Crappy lyrics and I swear, he was not that big last year. Whatever Randy did, he needs to do it too. I Knew You Were Waiting for Me - awesome. I nearly want them to team up and release it as a duet. Group sing... enjoyed it. Loved how it started off with George, ah George... way too much of the Spastic Hobbit, but at least he didn't get a solo... loved how it ended with the Barry Manilow, and I Made It Through the Rain is one of my favourite songs anyway, and I thought it was great that it ended with a shot of the three who were in the bottom three on that night... and while I'm here, Barry and the makeup woman? Priceless!!!

And can I just say? GEORGE!!!! -- singing Me and Mrs Jones... I love that song! I love him singing that song. And I squealed like a fangirl all the way through it... shaking my head... how could he have gone out before Jasmine? How? How? That man is my American Idol, I love him so... and seeing him and LaToya up there, I had a moment of "What if?" And he totally forgot the words but got himself out of it well... helsinkisister didn't even notice! I love that man to little tiny pieces. Even if he does have a thing for Camille. < shudder >
