Sep. 11th, 2006 11:03 pmBack from England, until Thursday evening at least... wedding was lovely, even if I bored HelsinkiFiancé to death by insistently noting the differences between Irish and English weddings... the bridesmaids coming up *behind* the bride? Priest rather than congregation doing prayers of the faithful??? The amazing buffet at the afters, complete with luscious desserts, but absent of tea and coffee??? *gasp* 'Twas the last that really amazed me... no cuppa halfway through the dancing to wash down your ham sandwich and cocktail sausages??? That's just downright uncivilised!!!
Had a bit of a day at school today... People were doing work in the room over the weekend and there was a horrible smell when we came in, opened all the windows, but that should have been a clue... one kid went home sick (was sick in the classroom)... another one got a forehead to the nose at breaktime, pumped blood everywhere (they were playing rugby on the grass, not allowed, HelsinkiPrincipal had to come down hard on them, all sixth class kids are now off the grass for the week; those who were innocent of playing rugby are not impressed!) ... I really should have just gone back to bed. The only thing that would have made it worse was if I had yard duty. But no. That's tomorrow. Me, another teacher and 431 kids. *whimper*
Himself is at a table quiz tonight, cheated and sent me a picture from the picture round on the phone, wanting to know who it was. I looked, I consulted
smiley_b, we both came up blank. So I sent that back, telling him that the only person it looked vaguely like was Bianca Gascoigne if she was airbrushed six ways to Sunday... just got a text back, "The lads all love you but are very worried about your geekness"... I was right!!! *does the dance of supreme geekitude*
