Visit to the ortho today... he is not taking off my top brace on Wednesday. Imagine my surprise. Instead, it's scheduled now for Thursday May 3rd at 10.05 in the morning. So tomorrow I get to go into HelsinkiPrincipal and go, "HP, don't need to leave early tomorrow, but need to come in late in May." Because to get there from school, I'd need to leave school at half nine, and we only start at ten past nine, therefore it's hardly worth it, right? Right?

Rec for [livejournal.com profile] smiley_b .... Tropicana Twister ...Veronica Mars fic where Veronica and Weevil are on a road trip to Vegas where they end up getting a lift with Hiro and Ando from Heroes as they make their way to the city... funny and smart with a moment that's so Hiro I just want to take it and give it a great big squishy hug!

Dubreuil and Lauzon's At Last... oh my goodness, I loved it. Loved every last second of it, and it made me squeee with the romantical squeeefulness of it all! Will have to give it a second viewing to make up my mind completely vis-a-vis difficulty etc etc but what I saw looked good, the lifts were amazing, though I take what Barb said about the step sequences... but overall the whole mood of it was fantastic.

Belbin and Agosto's Amelie - I want to see the Nationals version to see how it grew from first showing to this, but my initial thought, again on only first viewing is that if they consider this an improvement, I in no way shape or form want to see what went before. The music didn't do much for me, and while I could appreciate the difficulty on first look, the fact that I was noticing it on first look means that I wasn't blown away by the program itself which I think was what they were going for. (When my main thought, on first glance, is "How many times is Tanith allowed to bring her skate to her head because I thought they were limiting that this year", that's not a good sign!) Admittedly, I saw the CBC version of it, with Barb and Paul and Tracy (Bias? What is this word bias?) but I seemed to agree with them.

Virtue and Moir's Valse Triste - lovely unison and speed across the ice, nice flow, and the best twizzles of the three that I've seen so far... John Kerr is not looking quite so annoying right at this moment in time. Really enjoyed the program, agree with the Bias Triplets that they show immense promise, just want to look through the cds now and find some other stuff from them, OD and gala and such (if I remembered to DL them; I know I have the OD from nationals) just to get more of an overall picture of the two of them...

Davis and White Prince Igor - my first time seeing these two, and wow! Even with me singing the words to Stranger in Paradise I really enjoyed that. Great musical expression, really good footwork, lots of it very close together... I spent the whole first minute of the program trying to work out who he reminded me of, and then it hit me... with hair like that, he's a little baby Gwendal!

Navarro and Bommentre Beatles medley... another new team for me, and I really liked them too... very different program to the last few classical ones, and I think the contrast stood them in good stead for me... they really got into the perforance, seemed to enjoy themselves, loved his reaction when he saw they were in first place (at that point) - I just kept hearing Simon and Chris from Eurosport going "Stop the competition!"
