Busy but productive day yesterday, crowned by the fact that my car passed its NCT, yay!

I did not look at the Superbowl, or tape it, for the first time in years. Hate the Niners, loathe the Ravens, nothing against those of you who follow them, but seriously could not care less. And that power outage would have seriously done me in, from the sounds of it...though I will YouTube Beyonce later!

Am currently engaged in facebook conversation with two other teachers from my staff who are watching the Superbowl. This is a new thing for me!

Though at the risk of causing offence, considering I can't stand either team, I don't care who wins and may not make it through!

Former Skating star Nicole Bobek charged with significant role in drug ring - link has photo of Nicole in court on closed circuit tv, and reports that "She played a significant role in this operation," said Hudson County Prosecutor Edward DeFazio said of the probe that took down a methamphetamine ring and resulted in more than a dozen arrests, including Bobek. "She was actively involved in the upper echelon of this ring."

A shame, as I always liked her when she was skating... if she'd ever been able to get it together enough to actually train a program, her potential was limitless. And I just had the horrid thought that if you change "she" to "he" and "her" to "his", you could have been talking about Chris Bowman, may he rest in peace.

Between that and Steve McNair (memories of the 2000 Superbowl, the drive at the end, Kevin Dyson an arm's length short of the winning touchdown), I'm ready to turn off the internets and go down and look at Torchwood which is taping downstairs...

meeshy - ok, Daisuke Takahashi's Hip Hop Swan Lake only has sound in one ear, but I have a different DL of it that I can convert (without Russian commentary) but it still looks fabulous, and Brian Boitano's Lady of my Heart has never been clearer (smaller screen may be the cause, or else the converting worked miracles!) and I is so happy!

Which considering I was up until 3.05 in the morning is a good thing... frakkin' Giants. *grumbles* Though, to be fair, they played an excellent game, they completely shut down Tom Brady (I mean, seriously... is Bridget Moynahan related to every defensive player the Giants have or something? Because Brady just got whumped!) and for that miracle pass that Eli Manning got off to David Tyree (and holy smokes, talk about bending over backwards for your team)...for that pass alone, they deserved to win it. (Because how in the world did he manage to throw that?)

The halftime show? Could someone please escort Tom Petty to a barber? Anytime soon.

And for my weekend fun, I have sporting thoughts, which I'm cut-tagging for the most of you who neither know nor care what the hell I'm babbling on about, but I need a means in which to vent.
